Day 8 Review - KORU
Our second 'superyacht' spotting of our cruise, this time Jeff Bezos's superyacht 'Koru' moored behind us in port.
At $500 million, the second most expensive superyacht we'd seen, as days before we had seen 'Yacht A' outside Trieste. Yacht A rumoured to have cost $600 million.
I had my suspicions, as it looked like the support vessel was moored just behind Lokrum Island, near Dubrovnik. This is the boat they can land a helicopter on, from which guests get transported to Koru herself.
So, strolling inside the Terminal Area (restricted to passengers only) we stumbled upon Koru moored up directly behind our ship.
It looked like they were getting ready to leave the port, so it was a short visit they'd had - as it was not there when we left ship in the morning. The front docking gantry was open, and the interior control room looked immaculate - all gleaming stainless control gear.
Sure enough, within 30 minutes, she had slipped her moorings, u-turned and slid gracefully past us, into the sunset, and out to the open sea.
