A Cold War in Montenegro

Cruising out of Kotor Bay on the evening of the 25th August, 2023 we were treated to some great landscapes along the coast. Almost out of the bay, we saw something that looked very odd, like a canal tunnel heading perpendicular to the coast line - so deep, they looked like black holes.

These turned out to be 'Cold War era' submarine and naval vessel pens, used to hid elements of the 'Soviet' fleet.

Apparently, you can do tours into them (or even swim into them)

They are about 100 metres deep.
